Kogi Nareen: Leadership

Kogi Nareen: Leadership

As part of the series of sessions from the 2021 AOG Group Conference: Kingdom Come, we bring you a panel discussion with Kogi Nareen, from Rivers Church, South Africa on Leadership.

Some notes from the session:

  • It’s easy to produce results. It’s harder to reproduce culture.
  • Our responsibility as leaders is to get the best out of people. encouragement is one of the ways to do it.
  • Lead as you want to be led.
  • Correction and discipline is also encouragement.
  • Correction and discipline is best served after encouragement.
  • Leaders need to be followers. We need to submit to the leadership of our senior pastors.
  • The role of Executive Pastor is to know the vision, carry it and run with it. There has to be trust & loyalty,
  • Encourage the team to chase the leader, not the other way around.
  • Non-negotiable leadership values – relationship with team, conflict management & loyalty.
  • Humility – on staff to serve. If you lose your servant heart, you’re in trouble.
  • You don’t have to be right. You have to be righteous.
  • To serve your lead pastors – learn what jacked them tick, know that you are number 2.
  • Rebuild church.
