Care For The Soul: Back to Where it Started

Today, Sean Phillipps shares with us an encouragement from Colossians.

He says that we have got to be able to get a word from God and we have got to be able to go back to where it started.

Colossians 1:24

Now I rejoice in what I am suffering for you 

Colossians 1:25

I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness

I am a servant to the body of Christ, a servant to the church of god, a servant to my local church. How have I become a servant? By the commission that God gave to present to you the word of God in if’s fullness.

Where do I draw my strength? Through the knowledge that I have been called by God. 

Colossians 1:28-29

He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.

Where do I get this energy from? It comes from Christ because I know that I am called.

Colossians 2:2-3

My goal is that they… may know the mystery of god, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 

Colossians 2:5

For though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit and delight to see how disciplined you are and how firm your faith in Christ is.
