Byron Chicken – The Most Important Thing to do as Pastoral Leaders
Today, Byron asks the question, what is the single most important thing that we can do as Pastoral Leaders?
There are many things that we can and should do as pastoral leaders, but what is the most important?
- Byron suggests that the essence of our calling as pastoral leaders is to help people find their own life with God.
How do we do this?
We help teach them how to get to know Jesus. Really know Him. To teach them to start looking at Jesus as a person, through the lenses of the gospel writings, and starting to spend time, effort and energy to get to really get to know Him.
And as they do, they will fall in love with Jesus, and the God Jesus knew as Father.
Why? Because people in love with Jesus:
- Worship passionately
- Serve sacrificially
- Give generously
- And invite people regularly
It all starts with teaching them to get to know Jesus. Deeply. Personally. Profoundly.
