Care For the Soul: Habits Form the Heart
Jason render speaks to us today about how our habits form our hearts, how the things we do do something to us.
He asks us to pray the Prayer of Examen as David did in Psalm 139:23-24 NLT.
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 Point out anything in me that offends you,
and lead me along the path of everlasting life.
Jason asks encourages us to use the Prayer of Examen as a Fruit Audit, reminding us that fruit isn’t forced, fruit is formed and that we are invited into a life that leads to life, and noting that during this time we may be called into counteractive discipline.
The two quotes used into this clip are as follows:
“Terrorists as well as saints are the outcome of spiritual formation”
– DALLAS WILLARD (Renovation of the Heart)
“I can be a success as a pastor and failure as an apprentice to Jesus.”
– JOHN MARK COMER (Ruthless Elimination of Hurry)
